Overview

Position Summary
Guggenheim is seeking an experienced, motivated Credit Trader to join our Fixed Income Desk. Reporting directly to the Head of Fixed Income Trading, the candidate will be responsible for the execution of Credit Trading, with a focus on trading distressed credit, on behalf of customers and enhancing our presence in the Credit marketplace. This position requires strong collaboration with our salesforce to facilitate customer requests, market the product and the sector, and provide liquidity. The candidate will make markets in Credit products (bonds and loans), while providing superior client service.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Economics/Finance/Accounting preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in the Fixed Income market either as a Trader or Portfolio Manager
  • Must have existing relationships with institutional clients that can be leveraged to generate trades
  • Prior experience with stressed/distressed credit trading
  • FINRA Series 7 and Series 63
  • Quantitative and analytic skills including advanced use of Excel and VBA Macros
  • Proven ability to assess risk and liquidity
Preferred Qualifications
  • Business/Economics/Finance/Accounting degree preferable
  • Ability to spot arising opportunities and assertiveness to seize them
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively with diverse constituents
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team or on an individual basis in a fast paced environment; easily adaptable to changing situations
  • Fast decision making skills, mental discipline and ability to solve problems under pressure
  • Demonstrated ability to use good judgment; maintain integrity at all times
