The United Center, a premiere sports and entertainment facility and home of the Chicago Blackhawks and the Chicago Bulls, is looking for a Rock Star. Someone who is a passionate, team player who is ready to take their career to a championship level.

The Event Manager is the main point of contact and responsible for the planning and execution of all arena events for the NBA and NHL teams, concerts, and other varies

large scale events both indoor and outdoor.

Primary Duties

Organize and support all operational needs for NBA and NHL games, concerts,

meetings and other varies events, overseeing the entire planning process

Purposefully and creatively plan all events to meet all the needs of the clients while

maintaining operational efficiency.

Ensure United Center policies and procedures are being upheld on event days and on

nonevent days.

Lead employees with varying skillsets and perspectives and ensure they understand

expectations and needs for each event through written and verbal communication.

Including, but not limited to, setup sheets, CAD maps, diagrams, and meetings

Lead departments in problem-solving and identifying ways to optimize efficiency

Manage multiple and various events, projects, and tasks simultaneously and at a high

level, while still meeting deadlines

Develop a camaraderie with team representatives, United Center departments and

external promoters/clients to continually improve event execution and effectiveness.

Be the acting liaison between the Bulls and/or Blackhawks departments and the

United Center operational departments, proactively bringing needed employees

together on varies topics/events

Assist in managing the relationship between the Unions and internal and external


Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities

Proficiency in Microsoft office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Able to sustain a positive attitude and strong decision making in a fast-paced, active

work environment.

Willing to be proactive and take initiative with a solution orientated mindset


Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required

Minimum of 3-5 years of previous experience planning and executing large, high profile events in mid-large market arena or comparable facility is required with an emphasis on concerts and production

Strong concert and production experience preferred

Understanding of the industry and its terminology

AutoCAD experience preferred

Union and Promoter experience preferred

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and some holidays to meet business
