Job Summary

The Equity Analyst will perform the daily and monthly equity transactions and perform accounting processes for payroll and equity, such as preparing j ournal entries and account reconciliations. Th is role will assist the payroll team in payroll transmission preparation and completion. The Equity Analyst will provide support to the financial department by collaborating with other departments and registering with new State and Local Employment Tax agencies , as employees are hired and/or as the Company expands its global footprint in the United States, and globally . The ideal candidate will be well-versed in accounting and taxation principles , able to work comfortably with numbers , and have strong attention to detail. The goal is to contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department and help the company be fully aware of its financial condition to enable management's decision-making process .

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Perform d aily equity exercises as needed
  • Prepare m onthly RSA releases
  • Jo u rn a l entry preparation and entry , for payroll runs and equity transactions
  • GL account reconciliation processing of payroll and equity accounts
  • Payroll transmission preparation and review
  • Research current Local and State Income tax reporting and withholding requirements for new states within the US and possibly globally , including de minimus regulations
  • Register with any applicable new State or Local Jurisdiction
  • Perform internal control procedures over payroll and equity, as assigned.
  • Prepare internal and external audit requests
  • A ssist in the administration and reporting for the various areas
  • Assist in developing training material for equity and payroll employee education
  • Other projects as assigned.


Education

Preferred: Certified Payroll Professional designation, Certified Equity Professional designation, AA/AS degree in Accounting or Business Administration

Experience

Minimum Required:
  • 4 + years heavy volume experience with Multiple State Taxation and reporting
  • 2+ years Equity income reporting experience


Preferred:
  • Biotech industry experience with a sales force .
  • System imp lementation experience


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Minimum Required:
  • Customer service oriented
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to use independence and judgment to recognize and resolve problems within policy and procedures.
  • Familiarity with ADP

Preferred:
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communication and customer service skills required.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, deal with interruptions, and meet deadlines in a fast paced and growth-oriented environment.
  • Strong a ttention to detail and excellent organiz ational cap abilities.
  • Proficient in MS Office, advanced Excel experience preferred.
