Progeny Systems is seeking a motivated Entry to Mid-level Mechanical Engineer to join a team responsible for designing equipment for U.S. Navy submarines. Projects include a wide range of ruggedized submarine equipment and hardened electronics systems. The team is responsible for taking designs from initial concept development, through build and test, and into production. Candidates should have basic engineering design knowledge as well as the ability to apply engineering principles to new technical problems. Successful candidates will be detail oriented, reliable, and capable of working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and analyze components and electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Create and maintain mechanical solid models and drawings using SolidWorks.
• Create and manage bills of material (BOM) within Progenys data management system.
• Develop fixtures and equipment to support testing and production efforts.
• Develop and present PowerPoint slides documenting design progress.
• Participate in various technical and program meetings on a weekly basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required Skills

• Strong problem solving skills and ability to work both independently and in a team
• Experience with SolidWorks product suite
• Experience developing detailed designs of mechanical systems
• Strong documentation and communication skills

Desired Skills

• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5 a plus
• Experience with ruggedized electronics packaging a plus
• Familiarity with Navy environmental qualification test standards a plus
• Ability to perform structural and thermal analyses (FEA) on components and systems a plus

Education/Experience

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree
• 0-5 years' experience

Security Clearance

This position will require the applicant to obtain and maintain a DoD Clearance.
