The Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHSS) Manager will drive world class EHSS performance in a diverse biotech/pharma environment. The role will be responsible for the execution of key EHSS processes including:
  • Performance Management
  • Trending and analysis of EHSS information and provide data intelligence and actions
  • EHSS Productivity and Improvement Projects


Primary responsibilities include:
  • Partner with EHSS Management and Program Managers to ensure maturity of the EHSS Management System.
  • Analyze performance Key Performance Indicators, metrics, and establish annual action plans to drive continuous improvement.
  • Communicate with all levels of management actionable information based data to drive performance and decisions across Amgen
  • Monitor incident trends and assist management in conducting incident investigations to implement robust corrective actions to prevent future incidents and injuries
  • Identify and execute productivity and process improvement efforts to proactively drive continuous improvement.
  • Partner with EHSS Program Managers to verify all performance improvements are measured and effective.


Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree
OR
Master's degree and 3 years of Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability experience
OR
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability experience
OR
Associate's degree and 10 years of Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability experience
OR
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree & 5 years of experience in EHSS, Engineering, or other bio/pharmaceutical operations.
  • Strong understanding of Chemical and Biological manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams, projects and influence management
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, action oriented, self-starting, program development and project management
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Strong continuous improvement mindset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software systems
