Position Title: DTC & Corporate Accounting Controller
Location: Knoxville, TN or Atlanta, GA
Reports to: EVP Chief Accounting Officer

The Job:
The DTC & Corporate Accounting Controller will hold a key leadership position within the WBD Accounting Organization. The key objectives of the role are to provide strong financial control, efficient process, and a high level of support for key customers throughout the company. This role ensures the preparation and analysis of financial reports and compliance with all applicable regulations and maintains an in-depth, and up to date knowledge and understanding of both U.S. and international accounting principles. This role advises management of potential changes in accounting regulations or practices that may impact operations and reporting. The role will ensure that the systems and procedures are in place to provide timely and accurate financial data. The role will collaborate with business operations, corporate functions, and third-party auditors and advisors. The role will provide integrity and leadership to the accounting team and ensure that the team operates effectively and efficiently while providing a quality service.


The Daily:
? Assume global accountability for end-to-end process execution of the following accounting areas as it
relates to DTC and Corporate Accounting:
-Revenue Accounting
-Cost of Revenues Accounting
-Content Accounting
-Marketing Expense Accounting
-International Accounting
-Corporate Accounting and Record to Report (RTR) intercompany, debt, hedging, investments,
stock, compensation, severance, restructuring, lease accounting, fixed assets, etc.

? Oversee the timely and accurate monthly/quarterly/annual financial accounting and reporting, including
management and statutory accounts
? Review and approve work of accounting team, to include journal entries, reconciliations, etc.
? Guide integration and transition of legacy accounting groups into the new company as well as serve as
a key contributor to the implementation of the new accounting platform SAP S/4 HANA. Serve as
subject matter expert for existing systems and processes throughout integration and implementation
? Align accounting processes and technologies across locations and drive accounting processes
? Establish and lead on-going process governance for accounting processes (e.g. SOPs)
? Oversee accounting team, including direct supervision of team; train and assess team performance
? Develop talent and career track for team members; Leverage team members to improve overall
productivity, enhance motivation and balance workloads
? Develop, implement and maintain systems, procedures and policies to ensure adherence to company
guidelines. Embed proper controls and support for operational and financial compliance evaluations
? Serve as a strong partner to the business to ensure accounting information is accurate, consistent, and
available for content reporting and analyses
? Maintain a close partnership and working relationship with Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting team
to align on non-standard accounting matters

? Act as a liaison between the company, government, and external accountants to meet information
needs and to ensure that proper information is maintained for historical purposes
? Work with internal audit and external auditors to ensure effective control environment and
implementation of any SOX compliance requirements
? Participate in high visibility and impact projects when relevant


The Essentials:

? BS in Accounting; Masters degree in accounting or business a plus
? CPA required
? Minimum of 15 years of experience of Big4 and large corporation experience
? International accounting experience
? Media and high-volume transaction experience
? Strong technical accounting skills including a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting
Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting, and International
Accounting Standards (IFRS) experience
? Experience working in SOX environment
? Experience in designing accounting policies and related controls and training the business in these
? Attention to detail and accuracy as well as strong organizational skills and results oriented
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
? Proven ability to build confidence and trust with internal and external constituencies and provide
excellent customer service
? Strong management, training, and development experience and skills
? Demonstrated ability to contribute to a culture of excellence, integrity, and accountability
? Strong project management skills, with the ability to proactively manage a variety of projects and
timelines; demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and an ability to manage multiple assignments and
? Experience with SAP accounting systems and implementation
? Willingness and ability to travel
