About the Opportunity

We are currently seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Director, Supply Chain Management.

Basic Function:

Determine and oversee exceptional inventory management amongst the expansive RHFS branch network, driving details of the supply chain strategy to meet company performance objectives and customer expectations. Develop and lead a high-performance team to champion materials management, supply chain processes, infrastructure and enablers that drive profitability. Build partnerships with suppliers that holistically address performance, service, and continuous planning, forecasting, and replenishment. Direct core inventory practices and results, including supplier quality, costing, inventory turns, E&O, and sku / item master metrics. Manage negotiations and all procurement aspects of indirect materials, products, and freight. Analyze business practices for continuous improvement, global compliance and distribution fundamentals upon which the globally expanding business can rely. Foster end-to-end solutions from supplier practices through warehousing, transportation, electronic commerce and systemic decision making in support of optimal product, information, and cash flow.

Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Decision-Making Authority:

Drive guidelines for supply and demand alignment decisions, inventory and logistics processes that result in the lowest possible total cost and highest levels of fill rates and delivery satisfaction. Develop reporting and analytics that provide assurance that the system is delivering as it intends. Create solutions to repetitive exceptions that drive cost and hinder service. Continuously strive for best practice while overseeing day- to-day operational and process management involving the compliant, expedient flow of materials and products in this fast-paced, growing business. Ensuring timely & auditable processing, automated & simplified business processes, and compliant handling of order fulfillment and distribution are required for this role which encompasses materials and inventory programs, item master/sku management, transportation and logistics.

Representative Activities:

  • Provide guidance and serve as a resource in the development and/or redesign of U.S. and international physical distribution capabilities and practices.
  • Implement optimal supply chain solutions and strategies in support of inventory management, supplier and customer consignment programs, JIT solutions, business development
  • Establish and oversee inventory management and logistics strategy through execution and results
  • Drive carrier performance, delivery, payments and data management associated with executive level relationships
  • Ensure accurate and timely operational reporting, cost leadership, and balanced scorecard results
  • Liaise with outsourced firms and cross-functional teams to manage product flow within the branch network to customers on a global basis
  • Champion HSE, risk management, export controls, and assurance processes.

Typical Decisions Made:

  • Determine supply chain processes governing internal efficiencies and customer service successes
  • Interface cross-functionally to create supply chain solutions, identify and resolve problems, manage inventory and fulfillment objectives, and provide timely response to business needs
  • Define business rules and policies pertaining to materials strategy, transportation and physical distribution methods that ultimately yield bottom line cost reductions and meet P&L objectives.
  • Oversee freight payment and construction of charges to best manage costs and revenue capture
  • Establish effective SOP's driving S&OP and all supply chain activities inventory, warehousing, and transportation
  • Challenge operational and management actions, ensuring performance optimization for a scaling business


  • Ten (10) - 15 years business experience.
  • Eight (8) - 10 years of domestic and international distribution, logistics planning, and/or inventory management
  • Four (4) year degree required.
  • Advanced degree (Masters) preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence outcomes and focus on financials that drive behavior change.
  • Solid project management and Microsoft Office skills
  • Able to work well under pressure, performing and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Meet deadlines in high volume environment
