THE POSITION

Reporting to the Senior Director, the Director of Stabilized Asset Management, Central Region is our main liaison between ownership and 3rd party property management. The primary objective of this role is to drive excellence in asset performance and business plan execution.


What You Can Expect To Do

  • Work independently to drive asset performance, generate and execute strategic asset plans; strategically manage property cash flow and cash reserves to maximize coverage of owner and investor distributions, larger periodic expense needs, and major repair and maintenance capital improvements.
  • Analyze and ensure the integrity of monthly and quarterly property-level financial statements vs. budget or proforma.
  • Play an active role in the creation of annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Forge strong relationships with operating partners to proactively work through challenges and communicate concerns up internal and external chains of command when expectations are not being met.
  • Conduct frequent physical inspections of each asset in an assigned portfolio to develop a thorough understanding of each property and its challenges, assess implementation of strategic initiatives, assess operational and management performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • With the support of our Compliance team, monitor compliance requirements and deadlines across multiple government agencies and programs
  • Coordinate communications and manage requests from investors, lenders, governmental agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Research partnership agreements, financing documents, regulatory agreements, tax returns and other source documents as needed to ensure a thorough understanding of the operating guidelines for each individual asset in assigned portfolio.
  • Mentor and help develop analysts and associates in the department and across supporting teams for career growth and high performance
  • Support our Acquisitions team with ad-hoc due diligence items as needed
  • Support our Construction Services team with ad-hoc coordination and communication as needed

What You Should Have


  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or related fields
  • Ambition, a strong desire to learn, to achieve, a history of career advancement
  • A strong interest in real estate and real estate investing
  • Organizational skills; the ability manage your time, focus and communicate with clarity
  • 5+ years of experience with asset management, real estate finance, and affordable housing
  • A sense of urgency, an internal clock that helps you move with purpose
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • The ability to travel as needed
