Director, Outreach and Recruitment - Central Campus

Primary Function: The function of the Director of the Office of Outreach and Recruiting is to lead, supervise, evaluate, and direct all outreach and recruiting activities across the district. The Director provides leadership, management, planning and administration of the daily operations of the Office of Outreach and Recruiting, including but not limited to: drafting acceptance letters, developing and implementing strategic communications, and district wide recruitment initiatives and processes; extract and analyze data; assessment of initiatives and processes; recruitment event programming; and operating the enterprise constituent relationship management tool.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide College-wide strategic plan and drive the implementation of student outreach and recruitment activities that are innovative, consistent, and measurable to fulfill the overall objectives and goals of the College.
  • Identify barriers that prevent students from completing the enrollment process and participate in resolving barriers as appropriate.
  • Prepare and manage budgets and payroll, coordinate office and outreach advisor schedules, and prepare annual and monthly reports.
  • Extract and analyze recruitment, enrollment and marketing data to build accurate reports, modify practices, determine trends, and develop initiatives; utilize data to create presentations for team members and College leaders.
  • Interview, select, train, supervise, and evaluate a diverse team through the performance management system. Make appropriate staffing recommendations in accordance with College policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and implement communication strategies to all prospect target markets and to students during the enrollment process.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of and the ability to problem solve in the relevant College information systems including Banner, Argos, SOS, GPS, and various CRM's.
  • Develop, foster, and maintain relationships with community service organizations and agencies, area businesses, internal departments, and local high schools.
  • Closely monitor the outreach and recruitment team, including the high school-based team members, and their activities to ensure proper and effective follow up with prospective students and applicants including providing admission information, educational planning/academic advising, registration assistance, and assistance in accessing and navigating institutional requirements.
  • Represent the College by participating in state and local councils, committees, boards, organizations, and state and national conferences.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Public Relations Department to develop the content of recruitment material, coordinate campaigns, and establish outreach strategies.
  • Oversee the coordination, planning, and implementation of targeted recruiting events and activities at local high schools, in the community and on campus.

Additional Job Functions:
  • Work cooperatively with other departments to achieve the College's annual goals and objectives.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities.
  • Maintains all print and collateral recruitment material inventories.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain processes and systems that improve the quality of customer support services.
  • Must be knowledgeable about university transfer requirements, reverse transfers, and articulations agreements.
  • Must adhere to the highest principles of ethical behavior and strive to ensure the fair, objective, and impartial treatment of all persons with whom they deal.
  • Must use reasonable and informed practices to limit the liability exposure of the institution, its officers, employees, and agents.
  • Must possess outstanding customer service skills and have the ability to work with multiple projects and within deadlines.
  • Must have previous supervisory experience.
  • Must be available for nights and weekend activities.

Required Education:
  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited college/university.

Required Experience:
  • At least 3 years of experience in communications, marketing, recruitment, admissions, and/or other related field preferably in higher education..
  • Experience with an enterprise wide system.
  • Demonstrated experience with CRM systems or equivalent knowledge and utilization in the recruitment environment.
  • Ability to effectively utilize computer technology for email, data management, market research, student information systems and customer relationship management systems (CRM). Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience in creating, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive communications plan.
  • Highly organized with an ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline intensive environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with budget planning and managing departmental budget.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and supporting a collaborative work environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising a diverse team.

Preferred Experience:
  • In-depth knowledge of functional aspects of Banner Student System modules preferred.
  • Experience with safeguarding confidential information preferred.
  • Experience in marketing communications preferred.

Salary Grade: 29

Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year. See Salary Schedule
