GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Lead McCoy Rockfords furniture business installation operations and staff at assigned location by developing, maintaining and evaluating operational processes that enhance the profit and performance of the company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop metrics within operations to track improvements in productivity and effectiveness
  • Create and manage installation schedule in conjunction with project guidelines by analyzing manpower requirements, scheduling to accommodate day-to-day business, communicating with sales teams and project management all changes or edits in the schedule and creating overtime delivery and installation routes
  • Communicate with McCoy Rockford Leadership ensuring that they have a clear view of client needs and that the clients voice is always represented in our strategic decision-making process
  • Work together with other McCoy Rockford functions to help meet or exceed company goals
  • Enforce safety policies by conducting inspections, reporting statistics, counseling employees and holding monthly safety meetings
  • Serve as liaison between Installation Department and other McCoy Rockford departments and the customer
  • Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and hold employees accountable for achieving these standards
  • Build relationships with key clients and vendors to facilitate growth and participate in local and national organizations that build industry network and knowledge.
  • Fully leverage technology and available tools and ensure staff does as well
  • Initiate regular two-way communication with customers about their expectations and take the lead in articulating and implementing customer focused strategy build on systematic and regular data collection.
  • Appropriately delegate supervisory responsibility to subordinates & provide coaching to operations managers and supervisors
  • Hire, train, appraise, and retain staff effectively. Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy. Consult with human resources as appropriate.
  • Identify deficiencies in skills among team managed and work to improve individuals' capabilities through coaching, mentoring, development, and training, as well as providing timely guidance, instruction, and feedback to help strengthen specific knowledge and skill areas and optimize performance.

KEY SELECTION AND SUCCESS FACTORS

WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • 7+ years experience managing installation, distribution, logistics or field service organization
  • At least 3 years directly managing and leading a team
  • Office furniture dealer experience required


EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Management, Logistics preferred


OTHER/PREFERRED:
  • Track record of building relationships with external customers, vendors & internal customers
  • Superior leadership skills with a history of implementing positive changes
  • Experience preparing and executing a strategic plan to operate and grow the organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to deliver a clear message whether the audience in a front line employee or a senior executive
  • Must possess logical insight
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive employee, customer and cross-functional team relations while holding employees accountable
  • Strong conceptual and problem solving skills with the ability to handle and solve a variety of complicated problems having a wide range of impact on the operation of the company
  • Ability to make critical business decisions with limited information and time
  • Bi-lingual Spanish is preferred

  • Employee occasionally carries paper from the copy room to fill printer. Weight up to 12 pounds; Distance up to 300 feet; Frequency up to 2 times per week
  • Employee occasionally pushes or pulls an office chair. Force up to 7 pounds; Distance up to 50 feet; up to 1 time per week
  • Employee occasionally climbs main stairs or stairs to warehouse at main location to meet with customers in lobby display area, to access parts in warehouse, and interact with other operational departments. Height 1 flight; Frequency up to 3-5 times per day
  • Employee occasionally walks on level surfaces to: interact with all operational departments, retrieve needed materials, to access lobby display, and attend meetings. Duration 45 minutes per day; Distance up to 1,500 feet per day
  • Employee occasionally stands on level surfaces during interaction with customers and other personal. Duration 30 minutes per day
  • Employee continuously sits using the computer, talking on the phone, processing project paper work, and attending. Duration up to 7 hours per day
  • Employee constantly reaches out during work at desk. Height forward reach waist to chest; Frequency up to 30 times per hour
  • Employee must rarely bend, squat, stoop, or kneel during filing tasks.
  • Employee is occasionally exposed to ambient temperatures in the warehouse.
  • Work overtime as needed.
