Here is what the successful candidate will bring to the organization: Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful human resource professional will possess expertise in the principles and practices of human resource management and its governing applications. This position has three areas of focus: 1.) Hands-on designing HR best-practices with the goal of efficient and effective HR operations. 2.) Represent the organization during labor relations cases, arbitration, fact-finding and importantly, maintaining positive Labor-Management relations. 3.) Serving as the DEI champion to create, grow, and maintain diversity, equity and inclusion immersion actions throughout the organization. This full-time position will supervise the HR Manager. In light of COVID 19 and its viral variant, all safety protocols and precautions continue to be observed.

Position Specifications

  • Strategically develops a workforce plan that promotes a mission-driven culture of equity and achievement.
  • Builds and manages the human resources function and operation of the organization.
  • As a member of the Executive team, works collaboratively to ensure alignment of DEI efforts.
  • Lead development of key metrics to track progress of DEI strategies.
  • Develops and manages the employee performance review process.
  • Responsible for the management of recruitment, on-boarding, retention, and engagement.
  • Responsible for compliance with fair employment laws and National Labor Relations Act.
  • Will develop workplace safety plans, including remote employee workspaces.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least seven to ten years of work experience in Human Resources development, including diversity programs (DEI), labor relations (union experience), employment law compliance, staff training, employee engagement programs, and HR operational efficiency.
  • Bachelors degree in a related field and Human Resources Certifications required. Masters degree preferred; or any combination of education and experience that meet the essential qualifications of the job.
  • Must be technology savvy with working knowledge of MS Office Suite and HRIS systems, video platforms, such as Zoom, Teams, WebEx.

Summary Description:

In support of the philosophy and ethical norms of the Catholic Church and Catholic social teaching, Catholic Legal Immigration Network, Inc. the Director of Human Resources and Diversity Equity and Inclusion will be a strategic thinker who will plan, develop, and implement a human resource program for diverse geographic and cultural environment of approximately 70 employees. The successful professional will possess expertise in the principles and practices of human resource management and its governing applications. This position has three areas of focus: 1) Hands-on designing HR best-practices with the goal of efficient and effective HR operations; 2) Represent the organization during labor relations cases, arbitration, fact-finding and importantly, maintaining positive Labor-Management relations, and 3) Serving as the DEI champion in concert with employee volunteers of the Brain Trust DEI group this position will work collaboratively with employees to create, grow, and maintain diversity, equity and inclusion immersion actions throughout the organization, partnering with all levels of employees. This position is also responsible for proactive pay and gender equity, managing recruitment and compensation practices. The successful candidate will serve as confidential advisor to management to help create a culture of belonging and supportive of diverse perspectives. This position will supervise the Human Resources Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategically develops a workforce plan that promotes a mission-driven culture of engagement, inclusion, equity, and achievement.
  • Develops and manages the employee performance review process and manages training and skills upgrades.
  • Collaborates with leadership and non-management staff to build and achieve common goals.
  • Leads the work of the Brain Trust in the development and implementation of an organization-wide DEI strategy.
  • Leads training and develops knowledge capacity of staff on DEI that builds and supports a diverse community and culture.
  • Partners with executive team to ensure alignment of resources across CLINIC to support DEI efforts.
  • Leads development of key metrics to track progress of DEI strategies, providing key insights and intervention recommendations for future activities.
  • Through applicant tracking system, posts openings, screens applications, monitor the hiring process, conduct exit interviews, with a race-equity lens.
  • Responsible for the supervision and coordination of the recruitment, orientation, retention, and development throughout all CLINIC locations.
  • The HR Director will monitor for salary scales and salary analysis to ensure compliance with the Equal Pay Act.
  • The HR Director is responsible for EEO compliance, pay equity, employee, and labor relations to comply with NLRA.
  • Responsible for distributing/communicating needed information and assures day-to-day compliance with HR policies.
  • Oversees the effective utilization of ADP/HRIS software.
  • Will develop, implement, and monitor a workplace safety plan and its multiple sites, including remote employee workspaces.
  • Will perform audits of personnel files to assure compliance.
  • Will perform any related duties as requested.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in a related field and Certified Human Resources Management required.   • Trained and experienced in supervision, leadership development and organizational planning.
  • Must be trained in adult-learning theory techniques and diversity leadership.
