The Data & Technology Specialist works with the Performance & Innovation Director to advance evaluation and innovation at Catholic Charities of Central Colorado. With regards to evaluation, the position's primary purpose is to support management of the agency's data, helping to refresh the data warehouse monthly, improve collection tools like surveys and spreadsheets, and build reports. With respect to innovation, the position supports various technology needs, including the development of training materials, updates to existing technology, and troubleshooting for staff. The position requires an ability to learn new applications and processes quickly, excellent data management skills, and fidelity to the agency's mission to serve those in need in the community.

Essential Duties

Evaluation

  • Data Storage (30%) support monthly refresh of the agency's data warehouse by pulling reports, cleaning tables, uploading data, and auditing dashboard accuracy.
  • Data Collection (15%) help improve data tracking tools used by staff, including but not limited to surveys and spreadsheets, and enter various data as needed.
  • Data Reporting (5%) build, edit, and analyze reports using Microsoft Power BI and Excel pivot tables.

Innovation

  • Technology Training (25%) develop training videos and materials to help staff better utilize cloud-based applications.
  • Technology Maintenance (10%) help maintain existing technology infrastructure by updating things like groups as staff changes occur.
  • Technology Support (5%) support staff with various troubleshooting requests.

Other

  • Department Support (10%) collaborate with the Performance & Innovation Director around objectives and other activities within the department.


Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelors degree or major in a field related to data management or technology preferred, such as business administration, nonprofit administration, information technology, computer science, economics, mathematics, or other related field.
  • Two years professional experience preferred, ideally in the nonprofit sector.
  • If in college or university, junior or senior preferred.

  • Ability to learn new applications and processes quickly.
  • Strong data management and technology skills.
  • Strong detail and organization skills.
  • Understanding of client confidentiality and information sensitivity.
  • Interest in the nonprofit sector, especially around work with vulnerable populations and poverty.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office 365 applications, especially Excel.
  • Teamwork skills and ability to work well in a collaborative environment.


Work Environment

  • A majority of the assigned duties are performed in an office environment.
  • Some duties may allow for remote work, but this is not guaranteed.

  • Proficient in applications within the Microsoft Office 365 suite, including but not limited to Excel, Power BI, Forms, Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, Planner, and To-Do.
  • Ability to relate the agency's Catholic identity and ethos to agency staff and the community.
  • Ability and willingness to work within the established structure of Catholic Charities.
  • Occasional evenings and weekends are required to accommodate meetings and special events.


Compensation

$16.50 - 18.00 per hour DOE


Position Classification

  • Nonexempt
  • Part Time: 20 hours per week Monday - Friday
