Essential Functions:

1. Solid understanding and familiarity with both copper and optical (fiber) interconnection media and connectors as used for network and computer/storage platform connectivity
2. Install, terminate and test several types of copper, fiber and media cabling while adhering to best installation practices
3. Solid understanding of equipment installation practices and the effects of mounting choices/locations and cable dress in a dense operating environment
4. Install/remove customer hardware, servers, routers, power supplies, etc.
5. Ability to perform migrations, overhead structured installations, copper/fiber optics, rack and stack
6. Upgrade devise OS for standard products
7. Solid understanding of Server, SAN, and Network technologies
8. Run advanced configuration commands
9. Use ITIL best practices to install and troubleshoot hardware and network
10. Operate hand tools, power tools, and telecommunications test equipment
11. Assist in asset and consumable inventory mgt. and labeling or cables and equipment
12. Collaborate with various stake holders to remove project obstacles
13. Responsible for maintaining an elevated level of professionalism with clients, vendors and colleagues; works to establish a positive working relationship
14. Provide timely and completed documentation of work performed
15. Drive company/personal vehicle throughout service area while following all local laws
16. Operate vehicles and other equipment safely; adheres to safety protocols; reports hazards and risks; behavior contributes to a safe and secure working environment
17. When needed, supervise the work of outsourced or subcontracted personnel to ensure that quality standards are met and customers are satisfied.

Required Education and Experience:

1. Must be BICSI Certified

2. Associates degree in an IT related field or equivalent of education and experience

3. 5+ years' experience

4. Reliable transportation

5. Valid driver's license in good standing

6.10% or more travel may be expected

Preferred Education and Experience:

1. Experience in a large-scale network operations/data center environment

2. Experience working in virtualized enterprise networking environments

3. OSHA10 preferred but not required at this time

4. BICSI RCDD

5. ITIL V3 Foundations
