How This Role Contributes to Brighthouse Financial:

Lead the full solution lifecycle from definition to implementation of data and analytics solutions for Marketing, Distribution, and Client Servicing as well as enabling operational support services. To drive those activities, applicants are required to have experience and working knowledge of the following domains:
  • Marketing processes and operations
  • Sales & Distribution processes and operations
  • Client Servicing processes and operations
  • Insurance and Annuity processes and operations
  • Enterprise level data management
  • Data science and advanced analytics
  • Business intelligence and reporting
  • Governance approaches


Key objectives for the role will be as follows:
  • Lead highly integrated cross-functional teams through the full implementation lifecycle of resilient data & analytics solutions.
  • Work with support teams to ensure long term stability and reliability of data and analytics solutions in alignment with a best in cost approaches and practices.
  • Perform analysis and provide thought leadership to ensure strategic alignment across the portfolio and adjacent functions
  • Drive the design and delivery of data and analytics solutions, platforms, and services to ensure the continuous realization of value.
  • Act as an advisor for the overall Chief Data Officer's team and drive broader opportunities around data and analytics within and across Marketing, Distribution, and Client Servicing


Key Responsibilities:

Drive the end-to-end strategic portfolio and program management for the BHF Marketing, Distribution, and Client Servicing business areas by aligning development, functional and non-functional requirements for data & analytics capabilities. These efforts are to be executed in close coordination with IT Solution Owners, Infrastructure, Operations, Security, Transformation Office, and vendor partners to ensure an aligned and coordinated delivery of solutions and operational support services. This is inclusive of the following activities:

Analysis and Design
  • Structure and execute the analysis and assessment of business requirements into end-to-end data and analytics solutions in conjunction with functional teams, IT Solution Owners, architecture and engineering
  • Work with partners to develop and refine data and reporting requirements, flows, solution specifications, and testing approaches to ensure high quality and successful delivery
  • Drive and Coordinate the design and implementation of data &analytics capabilities for Marketing, Distribution, and Client Servicing in-conjunction with Data & Analytics teams, IT Solution Owners and the Business Stakeholders/Partners
  • Identify and execute opportunities to continually harden, enhance, and improve overall resilience of new and existing solutions and capabilities
  • Address and mitigate open governance, security, and risk items in conjunction with audit, compliance, and enterprise security for new and implemented solutions


Analytics and Reporting
  • Collaborate with Business stakeholders and partners to identify new insights, generate new opportunities and activate value in coordination Data Science, Advanced Analytics and Reporting teams
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop and track key performance indicators and metrics to enable decision management and support for Marketing, Distribution, and Client Servicing


Delivery Excellence
  • Rigorously prioritize, manage, and execute the demand portfolio and feature roadmap in conjunction with strategic priorities and plans
  • Develop business cases to validate investments and prioritization decisions
  • Develop, execute, and manage implementation plans in coordination with technology, business and transformation management office stakeholders
  • Manage product and program level demand, resource planning and financials to ensure efficient and timely delivery of critical needs within planned and forecasted budgets
  • Execute with discipline to ensure timely delivery of highly reliable data and data related solutions
  • Define and track metrics that demonstrate operational effectiveness and improvement opportunities.


Leadership and Teaming
  • Partner and coordinate with peers and senior leadership to identify and prioritize key initiatives, systems level priorities, risks and issues.
  • Lead a matrixed cross-functional mix of resources across the Enterprise Data & Analytics organization, IT Solution Owners, Business partners, and vendor partners to ensure teams have appropriate support to meet goals and that project risks are identified, mitigated and communicated to stakeholders


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
  • Background in Life Insurance and Annuities with proven leadership and influence skills in order to drive a fundamental transformation in the creation of our foundational data management and analytics capabilities.
  • Proven track record in developing, deploying and/or maintaining transactional systems, operational databases and data stores, data warehousing, reporting, analytics capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex, multi-disciplinary implementation projects.
  • 10+ years of experience in data and business intelligence delivery.
  • Familiarity with a range of data management, Business Intelligence approaches and the latest, tools, approaches, techniques, and methodologies in data and analytics development management.
  • Deep understanding and appreciation for both business and technology components of information management in insurance and financial services industry.
  • Proven track record in meeting aggressive deadlines.
