Description

Position Summary

The Cybersecurity Engineer role helps design, implement, assess and deploy cyber security solutions to defend Revance's technology and information assets. The ideal candidate is highly motivated engineer with experience in the life sciences industry participating/leading cyber, information, and network security initiatives, overseeing vulnerability/penetration testing/remediation, and participating/leading security event investigation.

The Cybersecurity Engineer will report to the Director of IT Operations, to help to maintain and improve the security posture of the Revance systems. They will also provide guidance and support concerning network and security topics.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities
  • Responsible for maintaining and enhancing IT security posture of Revance and assist with the protection of Revance technology and information assets.
  • Assist with developing, planning, implementing, and managing of the network infrastructure and security systems.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining security standards and policies that govern all aspects of Revance technology and information assets.
  • Assist with developing and implementing of security plans to address specific security requirements or changes within the security landscape.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining security compliance program to adhere to regulatory requirements, such as CCPA, GDPR, SOX, HIPAA and PCI.
  • Monitor, investigate, and report concerning related security events, incidents, and threats.
  • Lead remediation effort resulting from penetration tests, vulnerability scans, security events/incidents, current threat vectors, and code reviews.
  • Lead vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, secure code review, and security assessments.
  • Lead security awareness program to educate end users on best practices and security related topics, such as phishing, malware, and protecting personal information.
  • Work with IT leadership to further improve the security of our technology platforms and information assets.
  • Participate in security assessment and reviews for new systems, changes, and code as needed.


Education

Minimum Required:

5 Years related experience

Preferred:

BA/BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering/Science/Mathematics or related field

Experience

Minimum Required:

Solid understanding of Cyber security, Information security and Network security

3+ Years of Cybersecurity, Information Security, or Network related experience

5+ Years of Information technology related experience

Preferred:

5+ years managing security systems in a Part 11, PCI or HIPAA regulated company.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Minimum Required:
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills. (high emotional intelligence)
  • Excellent business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Familiarity conducting vulnerability scans and security assessments.
  • Familiarity with security event investigation, reporting, and remediation
  • Experience administering security policies
  • Experience administering network and firewalls.
  • Experience administering the system functions including security policies and account management of Microsoft Windows and Server as well as Linux/Unix-based systems.
  • Ability to multi-task in an ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems creatively to ensure satisfactory user experience.
  • A positive, "can do" attitude and flexibility


Preferred:
  • Working knowledge of Network devices including Cisco, Meraki, HPE and Aruba devices
  • Working knowledge of Firewalls including Cisco ASA and Palo Alto Firewalls
  • Working knowledge of Security systems including Arctic Wolf, Crowd Strike, Azure/Office365 Security
  • Working knowledge of IT Governance frameworks, such as ITIL or COBIT.
  • Cloud hosting & SaaS administration experience.
  • Experience with GxP environments and GAMP 5 qualification processes.
  • Ability to foster and cultivate relationships within and outside the IT department.
