POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the Customer Service/Support Team Leader is to provide technical and administrative support to all individuals assigned to the Business Office Customer Service and Vendor Management Teams. This position requires a strong background in customer service (to include complaint handling) and insurance management processing as defined by the respective A&E tool assigned to this position. The responsibilities are performed primarily through contact with internal and external customers by phone, in writing, in person, and/or via correspondence handling.

The Customer Service/Support Team Leader must exhibit exceptional oral and written communication skills. A proven track record in managing others is crucial to the success of the individual in this position. The ability to monitor and track productivity is required. Scorecard management is also essential.

The Customer Service/Support Team Lead should demonstrate the ability to interpret/train the staff in the application of the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center insurance contracts as it applies to accurate insurance payments, denial and appeals handling. This knowledge is required to effectively administer the employees in the Vendor Management Team. The Customer Service/Support Team Leader must have prior call center management experience to properly monitoring incoming call traffic and to allocate resources accordingly.

The Customer Service/Support Team Leader will execute a quality review program which requires an extensive knowledge of policies and procedures. Attention to detail, strong time management and the ability to multi-task are required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or prior management experience required.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

EXPERIENCE: Four or more years of experience in billing and customer service is required. All applicants must possess a strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite products. A working knowledge of McKesson STAR Patient Accounting software is preferred. Bi-Lingual preferred.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Position requires sitting at a desk/computer a majority of the day and frequent walking, standing and reaching. This position also requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds. This position works with equipment such as computer terminal, fax machine, printer and copier.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

This position reports to the Customer Service/Support Manager.
