Essential Job Functions:
  • Promote the College, and its programs, students and staff by maintaining and updating the San Jacinto College social media sites.
  • Assist College faculty and staff with establishing a social media presence, and ensure that the College's brand is maintained.
  • Film, shoot, produce and edit a variety of video and graphic assets to be used in social media, on the College website, and among other platforms.
  • Assist with the creation and execution of email marketing communication and campaigns.
  • Report monthly on various metrics measuring the success of the social media campaigns.
  • Assist with paid search, content management, & SEO.
  • Serve on appropriate College committees or task forces. As requested
  • Other duties as assigned.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge about social media technologies. Must understand and demonstrate the latest trends and developments.
  • Must possess excellent online research skills.
  • Previous marketing and / or social media experience.
  • Must demonstrate creativity, engagement, and the ability to work within a team.
  • Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Demonstrated experience in producing video and graphic content appropriate for website and social media platforms.
  • Some after hours (evening and weekend) work required.

Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field

Required Experience:
  • 2 years in marketing, advertising, public relations, with emphasis in digital marketing.

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience in a higher education setting maintaining social media sites and creating engaging video and graphic content for users.

Preferred Licenses/Certifications:
  • Google Analytics, Google Ad Certification





Salary Grade: 23

Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year. See Salary Schedule
