Control Systems Designer III - St. Paul, MN

Specific job duties in this particular position: Perform programming for Honeywell and KMC BAS (Building Automation Systems) including KMC-BACnet, Distech, Honeywell, Niagara AX/4, and LonMark systems, as well as various controls integrations under minimal supervision and be responsible for understanding controls system architecture and detailed networking ant IT infrastructure requirements; read and interpret contract plans and specifications, survey information, sales sketches, estimates and take-off sheets and recommend design modifications; develop, set and ensure compliance with design standards, including naming convention and electrical wiring diagrams based on customer and site requirements and systems and Control applications; fully develop schematic sketches of control circuits, schedules, sequence of operation based on owner's project requirements in compliance with applications engineering standards and CAD/CAE Systems and mechanical/electrical systems and controls processing (PCs, Ethernet, Echelon, BACnet, RS-485, RS-422 etc.) under minimal supervision; prepare submittals and shop drawings to show locations of all control devices, conduits, piping and piping sizes, and specify system components and prepare specialized materials orders to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications; and confer with on-site electricians/fitters/technicians and owner to ensure project is built according to specifications, meets design intent, and is compliant with state, federal, and municipal building codes.

Requirements: Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and three years of experience in applications engineering or in the alternative, Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and five years of experience in applications engineering.

Must possess three years of experience in each of the following:

- BAS (Building Automation Systems); KMC-BACnet, Distech, Honeywell, and Niagara AX/4, and LonMark programming experience

- Systems and Control applications;

- CAD/CAE Systems and mechanical/electrical systems;

- Compliance with state, federal, and municipal code requirements; and

- Controls processing (PCs, Ethernet, Echelon, BACnet, RS-485, RS-422 etc.)
