We are Carotek, Inc. and we're actively looking for a qualified Electrical Control Systems Designer who has experience with PLC Application, programming a plus; HMI Application, programming a plus; VFD Application; AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical; Control Panel Design and Layout Experience; Electrical Engineering Degree a plus.


Performs routine to moderately complex electrical design tasks requiring the use of CAD and peripheral equipment by preparing clear, complete and accurate layouts, detailed drawings, assembly drawings and diagrams. Details to include all views and dimensions necessary for manufacture of electrical control panels.

Responsibilities include:

  • Using AutoCAD equipment and software to develop electrical control panel designs.
  • Utilizing sketches and data submitted to create and revise production drawings (detail and assembly drawings) ensuring the drawings convey the correct information.
  • Creating layout of control panels and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages and location of holes using established NEMA wiring standards and symbols.
  • Drafting detailed multi-view drawings of machine and products.
  • Making final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another and relation of various parts to whole structure or project.
  • Drawing finished designs and creates detailed Bill of Material.
  • Establishing drawing and documentation requirements for specific projects; resolves technical problems; analyzes design concepts as to manufacturing feasibility and alters detail and layout drawings to conform to engineering changes.
  • Working closely with Shop personnel to make any changes necessary during the fabrication process.

This job operates in a professional environment, is full-time and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Occasional travel to customer site visits may be necessary.
