Were looking for a Communications Associate to support our Director of Communications and projects across the organization. This person will play a key role on our busy communications team, providing administrative and editorial support. They will also support digital communications and help us connect with and share findings with broader communities who have a stake in improving the quality and delivery of human services.

Responsibilities

• Edit/proofread internal and external materials for a range of audiences and contexts, including research and meeting reports, case studies, briefs, toolkits, peer-reviewed articles, training curricula, etc.
• Covert technical research reports to plain language text for broader dissemination
• Support staff with presentation design and data visualization
• Ensure branding and style compliance, and represent communications team policies and guidelines across all materials
• Offer administrative support to the communications team in tracking products and materials according to deadlines
• Help manage digital content, including social media and website copy and design across social media channels, the HSRI website, and HSRI-managed sites
• Assist the communications team in developing and implementing communications strategy across all teams
• Help manage graphic assets
• Assist with performing remediation of documents for 508 compliance
• Help advance public discourse on the need to involve people with lived experience in public service system planning and policy advising

Minimum Qualifications

• A four-year college degree or equivalent experience
• Experience in health and human service fields
• A commitment to excellence and continuous learning
• An exceptional writer and verbal communicator
• Ability to juggle and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to understand and present technical information to nontechnical audiences
• A high regard for inclusivity and cultural sensitivity
• Experience performing administrative duties
• Competency in a range of cloud-based communications applications and channels, including MailChimp, Canva, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience equity-promoting approaches to writing and community engagement
• Experience performing remediation of documents for 508 compliance

Hours

Full-time, Monday Friday, 40 hours per week

Location

This is a remote position with an option to work from our Cambridge, MA office, which is accessible by public transportation. HSRI does not permit remote work arrangements based in California, U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and other international countries.

Salary Range

$43,800 - $70,100

Pay is commensurate with skills and experience.
