Communications Assistant

CLC is seeking a Communications Assistant to provide administrative support to the communications team. This is an excellent entry-level position in the nonprofit and political communications field.
This position will report to CLCs Director of Communications.
Responsibilities
- Compile and internally distribute daily clips from news and social media
- Maintain CLCs media log and post relevant clips to the website
- Edit CLC content for AP style and grammar
- Post content to CLCs website, ensuring it is optimized for search engine results (SEO)
- Manage and update CLCs style and brand guide; serve as the point person for educating staff on brand rules and usage.
- Support in scheduling, planning and implementing CLC streaming events
- Organize and plan team building retreats and social events
- Serve as a notetaker at team meetings and organizational partner meetings
- Provide materials for board reports and other external stakeholders
- Perform team administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong copy editing and writing skills
- Strong project management skills
- Familiarity with news media and desire to learn more about trends in the industry
- Attention to detail
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Knowledge of AP Style
- Commitment to CLCs mission
