POSITION SUMMARY

As a Collections Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and collecting outstanding debts from our Members and Chairs (clients). The Collections Specialist will report to Manager, Accounts Receivable and work closely with our collections and accounts receivable teams to ensure timely and effective payment of outstanding invoices. The ideal candidate will bring a high level of independence and utmost customer service to meet the needs of our clientele and collections department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain a positive relationship with all members and chairs throughout the collection process
  • High volume of calls and emails to active and inactive members to request payment of past due membership fees and/or to resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and payments
  • Adhere to the collections timeline and follow-up cadence on all accounts
  • Recommend and Set-up payment plans for members with large past due balances
  • Respond to incoming emails and calls from members and Chairs
  • Evaluate problem accounts and consult with the appropriate internal personnel as well as Chairs to work toward resolution
  • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor and/or company management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in finance or accounting preferred
  • 1+ year of experience in collections with additional experience in accounts receivable
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Comfortability speaking with CEO level members about past due balances
  • Sincere commitment to customer service excellence and high-level professionalism
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Familiarity with accounting software and CRM systems; Great Plains preferred
  • Appropriate sense of urgency to address time sensitive issues

COMPENSATION RANGE

$25 27/hr + Company Bonus
