Job Summary:

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, reviewing and optimizing production build plans and materials.
  • Planning, creating and controlling work orders and purchase orders to achieve desired KPIs.
  • Purchasing materials, equipment, supplies and services from approved vendors.
  • Elevate visibility of vendor risk or opportunities to optimize sourcing and supply to meet KPIs.
  • Support S&OP and Customer Service objectives for regarding data and analysis.
  • Apply knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for sourcing and purchasing of materials within the framework of an ISO-9001 and 13485 quality system.
  • Working in a fast-paced environment requiring a self-starter, comfortable with multi-tasking, short deadlines, frequent change with an advanced ability to analyze and problem solve.

Essential Functions*:

  • Understand, document and apply internal and external capacities, lead-times and constraints to develop S&OP targeted and R&D related supply solutions to demand, achieving targeted delivery, quality and cost.
  • Create, manage and properly close work orders in Syspro representing S&OP targeted and R&D related supply solutions to demand, achieving targeted delivery, quality and cost.
  • Engage in Supplier Scorecard process and identify when new sources of supply should be sought or may now be available.
  • Participate in the cycle counting process, assuring accuracy and root cause corrections for areas assigned.
  • Provide timely information to Customer Service and other functions regarding lead-times and delivery dates, including proactive updates or corrections as required to meet internal performance goals.
  • Develop and maintain capacity planning and discrete production schedules for S&OP targeted and R&D related supply solutions.
  • Identify and drive opportunities to utilize VMI, Kanban or pull scheduling for internal or external sources of supply.
  • Provide accurate and timely maintenance of ERP system including item master records, BOMs, component pricing, vendor details, etc
  • Work with other disciplines, as needed, to quantify and address material usage, scrap and PPV variances.
  • Work with other disciplines, as needed, to address RMAs, NMRs, CARs and SCARs in order to achieve targeted KPI performance.
  • Elevate vendor issues regarding quality, delivery, cost, lead-time and other contractual obligations.
  • Provide recommendations to management for continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, purchasing and inventory management & control.
  • Prepare for and participate in internal and external audits related to sourcing and supplier quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education / Training / Skills / Experience:

  • Minimum of an AA/AS degree plus five years of recent and relevant business experience in a manufacturing environment. Two additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Experience with product data management and configuration management processes in an ISO 9001 certified manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Advanced organizational abilities, oral & written communications and interpersonal skills are mandatory.
  • Advanced ability to perform job with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced ability to analyze and resolve moderately complex problems.
  • Advanced ERP/MRP system experience as a user required. Syspro experience strongly preferred.
  • General knowledge of ISO requirements and a working knowledge of those requirements as they pertain to the provision of document / record control, purchasing of parts, materials, tooling used in manufactured product or in support of product manufacture, identification / traceability / preservation of product, supplier qualification and management, control of nonconforming product, and corrective and preventive action in support of product manufacture preferred.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated electronic component purchasing experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of planning, purchasing, inventory control, and manufacturing processes.
  • APICS certification is a definite plus.
  • High level of initiative and strong work ethic.
