Responsabilits

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Business Intelligence, Commercial Strategy & Revenue Management team that supports international advertising sales efforts for Discovery Networks leading brands such as Discovery Channel, Eurosport, HGTV, Food Network, Animal Planet, DMAX across all platforms including television, digital and social media.

The Business Intelligence &Ad Sales Research Analyst is responsible for learning and leveraging a variety of local and central research resources to provide data driven intelligence in support of DNI advertising sales initiatives. They will champion a culture of data sharing between central and local research teams consolidating performance/audience data and identifying global synergies to best support our multi-local commercial strategy.

  • Manage day-to-day requests from the DNI/Eurosport sales team, providing best-in-class support using all tools and databases available
  • Champion an insight-driven approach with the sales team, advising them on the best data to use to ground their sales strategy.
  • Create and disseminate BI material supporting the sales of DNI/Eurosport brands across TV, digital and social.
  • Manage ad effectiveness projects from brief stage to client delivery acting as main liaison between sales/client and our preferred research partner
  • Expand and streamline communication between central and local DNI research teams - identifying synergies and sharing knowledge, material, best practices etc.
  • Identify and build a global network of local research champions to share insights with and best support the DNI multi local sales approach
  • Act as the primary Business Intelligence/Ad Sales Research contact to local research teams and ensure all centrally produced Discovery material is disseminated to the relevant teams.
  • Create and manage an ad sales research knowledge hub on Google Drive to centralise as much material as possible and make it easily accessible to everyone (local and central teams)
  • Provide support and expertise in the post campaign performance reporting produced for key clients utilising all available measurement systems.
  • Produce commercially relevant decks & insights in collaboration with the wider Business Intelligence team.
  • Update and disseminate cross-platform ad spend reports to the relevant sales team optimising client prospecting efforts with the aim of boosting revenue opportunities across all DNI brands
  • Attend Sales presentations & meetings when requested by sales


Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience at a media company, advertising agency, marketing research firm or equivalent
  • Bachelors degree in a related field
  • Proven research experience with a track record working in the media industry or at an advertising agency (international advertising/media experience a plus)
  • Experience with media research tools and audience measurement metrics and systems (i.e. BARB, Kantar, Global Web Index, Ipsos Affluent etc.)
  • Strong Interest in TV, media, advertising and/ or entertainment industries
  • Knowledge understanding of all commercially relevant media platforms (especially TV, digital, OTT and social media)
  • Solid knowledge of advertising / media landscape (knowledge of brands/products, target audience,
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of comfort with numbers and different computer systems is necessary
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective planning and organization skills
  • Fluency in English required (additional foreign language e.g. French or German would be a plus)
  • Must be detailed oriented and able to handle multiple projects/priorities
