Reporting to the Assistant Director, Budget & Business Planning with responsibilities for supporting the Associate Vice President for Facilities and Risk Management. The Business and Finance Budget Analyst is responsible for the financial management support, including budget preparation, review and analysis, strategic financial planning, and financial reporting for the division. The Budget Analyst will also assist in the preparation and administration of the University's annual capital budget, and when required, be involved in broader budget analyses of the University.

Job duties include:
Conduct statistical and financial analyses of Facilities, Campus Services, and other Business & Finance strategies, policy initiatives and issues. Analyze and forecast major economic and financial trends. Assist in the preparation and administration of annual operational and capital budgets for both short- and long-range fiscal planning.

Analyze and track costs for all Facilities, Campus Services and other Business & Finance budgets, including the collection, analysis and forecasting of financial information throughout the year. Monitor actual performance versus budget, researching and investigating any variances to expected results.

Responsible for analytical support of Facilities' budgetary issues such as deferred maintenance, cost summaries for construction projects, Facilities' services, warehouse and other department functions.

Provide regular support for day-to-day operations of the division of Business & Finance.
Use various software applications to manipulate and format data for presentation/monthly reports for internal constituents.

Responsible for providing data and working with the Controller's Office on fixed assets, annual audit issues, construction-in-progress reports and utility accruals.

Analyze, evaluate, and update current business practices and recommend actions and best practices.



Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
One to three years' experience in accounting, budgeting, procurement, and/or business operations required.
Possess strong human relations/customer service skills and demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse constituencies.
Be skilled in the use of budget software and database systems.
Strong ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Demonstrate success in working with diverse constituencies.
