Internships at WWF

WWFs internship program vision is to recruit professionals early in their careers who bring fresh thinking and innovation to the environmental and conservation sector and are well positioned to develop into the next generation of leaders. Our mission is to increase exposure of students from underrepresented populations to conservation and environmental careers, provide professional development opportunities, reduce the barriers to attracting a diverse pool of internship candidates, and develop a pipeline for future WWF hires from underrepresented populations.

Position Summary

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the worlds leading conservation organizations, seeks a intern for the Activism and Outreach team for the summer of 2021. The intern will work closely with members of our team to support and prepare for this years Panda Ambassador Summit which will take place in August 2021. The Panda Ambassador Program is an application based program for WWFs most engaged activists who want to exercise their conservation leadership and take direct action and engagement in their own communities on behalf of WWF. This years summit will provide an intentional online space in which Panda Ambassadors can build network and community, connect Panda Ambassadors with additional tools and skills necessary to be effective advocates for WWFs mission, and drive motivation for their future work.


Internship Description: The intern will focus on ensuring a successful 2021 Panda Ambassador Summit by

  • Researching and brainstorming sessions for the Summit
  • Assisting Summit logistics such as Zoom meeting moderation, outlining the run-of-show, collecting/shipping participant package materials, and relevant tasks as assigned.
  • Conducting outreach to participants
  • Writing and designing Summit materials like memos, handouts, and presentations

Skills and Abilities

  • Proactive problem-solving and good communication skills (written and verbal);
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness and ability to work in a team environment and independently;
  • Writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Attention to detail is a must;
  • Comfortable using Microsoft tools like Word, Outlook, and Excel;
  • Demonstrates a history of leadership, initiative and accountability for work.

Learning Outcomes

This internship will provide an opportunity for the intern to grow and learn through the organization of a multi-faceted online event, in the conservation space, alongside grassroots activists.


  • Pursuing either an Associates or Bachelors Degree program in Communications, Business, or Marketing
  • Excellent research skills
  • Organized and self-motivated
  • Identifies and aligns with the core values of the WWF organization: Courage, Integrity, Respect & Collaboration


US Remote WWF employs interns in all states with the exception of: Alabama, Arkansas, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, Wyoming.


Paid - $15 per hour (35 hours per week)

One time stipend net $100
