Having launched in Sephora in 2017, Biossance has reached the top skincare brands within Sephora. The North America Retail Director is responsible for the entire Sephora/SIJCP US, Canada and e-commerce businesses and will drive sales and build a strong partnership with our key retail partner. The Director is the key liaison between the retailer and Biossance cross functional teams, including Creative, Visual Merchandising, Marketing, Education, Inventory Planning, Product Development and Operations. The mission is to implement the strategies of the company and provide a competitive presence at point of sale versus the market.

Responsibilities
    • Develop overall strategy for Sephora North America to include dot com, core business, promotional business, kits, and co-branding opportunities to build sales and rankings
    • Align in-store and e-commerce business to create a holistic omnichannel strategy
    • Drive visual merchandising initiatives
    • Partner with Education/Field Sales to coach, motivate and support our field team and Sephora Beauty Advisors, inclusive of new store openings, beta programs, brand focus days, events and new launch strategies.
    • Monitor and partner with Sephora Inventory team to ensure appropriate stock levels
    • Design seasonal plans with cross-functional teams to ensure success of A+ and core product launches.
    • Consolidate new market and new product launch forecasts; adjust forecasts as needed based on sales results in order to achieve business goals.
    • Create 360 plans and timelines for new product launches
    • Strengthen partnership with all levels (all team and top to bottom management) at Sephora
    • Constantly negotiate to optimize space, location and assortment across stores and e-commerce
    • Drive all activation opportunities across all channels
    • Plan and execute planning / update meetings (monthly, quarterly)
    • Recommend, negotiate participation and collaboration in key events
    • Develop both long-term and short-term assortment strategies to optimize sell through and minimize returns
    • Coordinate and consolidate sampling planning efforts to best maximize sales impact through product focused marketing initiatives
    • Lead seasonal merchandising updates from creative brief to in-store
    • Report on strategy, sales, rankings and budget progress
    • Partner with Analytics to create weekly analysis and recommendations to improve Sell Thru results
    • Partner with Inventory Planning to create weekly sell in analysis and recommendations to optimize sell in
    • Research competitive and product benchmarks in order to identify product opportunities and trends and make recommendations to drive the business


Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
    • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in account management/sales role, skincare/beauty industry highly preferred
    • In-depth knowledge of beauty industry
    • Knowledge of US / Canada market and willingness to travel
    • Must be a strong collaborator who can work effectively with key internal and external cross-functional partners
    • Strong demonstrated analytical, communication and project management skills
    • Strong computer skills - excel, outlook, word, PowerPoint
    • Highly motivated with the ability to thrive and multi-task in a fast-paced and demanding environment, passionate about cosmetics
