CLASSIFICATION Year-round; Full-time

FLSA Exempt

REPORTS TO High Performance Director

LOCATION Park City, UT

TRAVEL up to 15%

Connecting U.S. Ski and Snowboard athletes to education & career support services to empower them with quality guidance and advice.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Athlete Experience
    1. Measure and identify program needs and services that support the goals for delivery of athlete education and career transition services
    2. Act as primary point of contact for ACE related needs for all U.S. Ski & Snowboard athletes and alumni, providing guidance and advice where needed
    3. Rookie Camp: collaborate with Athlete Services to deliver an annual on-boarding event for newly named athletes and parents
    4. Deliver workshops in person and via Webinar to educate athletes on ACE programs and services
    5. Coordinate athlete participation in educational and internship programs (such as Speakers Bureau, Tuck Next Step, BlackRock internship, etc.) and work to create more of these opportunities with partner organizations
    6. Act as liaison to USOPC ACE department to identify program and service opportunities, and help U.S. Ski & Snowboard athletes better understand and utilize the USOPC resources available to them (including in-state tuition, tuition grants, etc.)
    7. Provide transition support for off-boarding athletes and alumni, including guidance on career search, resume building, networking, internships, and other transition support services
    8. Engage alumni athletes via email newsletters, social platforms, in-person events, and opportunities to work with U.S. Ski & Snowboard as an organization (ex. Athlete gift officer)
    9. Create and maintain ACE Toolkit on website (workshop schedules; internship opportunities, job postings; resume toolkit; as well as guides for career search, fundraising, college application, standardized test prep, tutoring and academic advising resources, fundraising, transition resources, and USOPC resources)
  2. Operational Excellence
    1. Work cross-departmentally to enable effective athlete communication (e.g., off-boarding and on-boarding) and educational workshop delivery (e.g., fundraising, marketing, etc.)
    2. Maintain close relationships with Sport Directors and coaches to understand how best to support the whole athlete experience
    3. Maintain relationships with key external partners such as World Cup Dreams Foundation, T2, USOPC, Tuck, BlackRock, and partner Universities, Colleges, and Academies
    4. Maintain OKR reporting and identify priorities and timelines
    5. Track KPIs for ACE department, including athlete engagement and program utilization
  3. Financial Performance
    1. Provide budget information, including expense status and requests for each upcoming fiscal year. Track resources and meet service goals within given budget
    2. Execute bi-annual tuition reimbursement process, working jointly with Accounting Department
    3. Provide financial reporting for Foundation in support of grant applications and impact reports

COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE

  1. Bachelors degree or higher is required
  2. Knowledge of preparatory and collegiate academic systems is required
  3. Project leadership and planning skills
  4. Relationship management (with athletes as clients, partner orgs, internal & external stakeholders)
  5. High level communication skills (both writing and speaking, in English)
  6. Ability to plan larger projects and problem solve issues that slow down projects
  7. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
  8. Ability to rally others around a cause, and communicate value
  9. Professional presentation skills using Excel, PowerPoint and other programs to illustrate tracking and reporting statistics, educational presentations and program opportunities
  10. Passion for the lifelong success of U.S. Ski & Snowboard sports and our athletes
