Advancing Knowledge and Learning


1. Manage book publicity campaigns from beginning to end, including planning and execution.

2. As part of the publicity campaign, identify the best and most appropriate audience for assigned titles and compile appropriate media lists accordingly, pitching books and authors to all appropriate outlets and event venues.

3. Book author events; print, online, radio, podcast, and television interviews. Secure book reviews and excerpts as appropriate.

4. Communicate with authors, editorial, and marketing colleagues about publicity achieved and reporting on individual titles at marketing meetings.

5. Maintain and foster media contacts through research relationship building.

6. Research and write press releases, pitch letters, and other publicity materials.

7. Work with the Publicity Manager to plan publicity campaigns.

8. Work with Publicity Manager to manage individual campaign budgets.

  • Previous publicity experience required
  • Creative, enthusiastic and energetic attitude
  • Familiarity with key U.S. media outlets
  • Confident dealing with the media and authors, being able to communicate effectively
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Position Location: This role is hybrid, based out of New York, NY (3-4 times a month in the office)

GJC Level: S3 (for internal purposes only)
