This is an in-person on campus, non-remote position.

Under the supervision of the Director of Financial Aid, the Associate Director of Financial Aid Technology assists with the day-to-day management of the Financial Aid Office including oversight and management of the Ellucian Banner Financial Aid systems. This position also coordinates the overall use of technology for the financial aid office and supports the department in its mission to provide students and families timely and accurate financial aid assistance.

This position has the financial aid responsibilities to assist in the planning, development, organization, administration, overall coordination, and supervision of a comprehensive financial aid program. Financial aid programs include grants, loans, scholarships, and work-study.

Under the supervision of the Director of Financial Aid, the responsibilities of the Associate Director of Financial Aid Technology include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and coordinate daily operations in the Financial Aid Office
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of the senior staff
  • Review and approve time leave requests for financial aid staff
  • Collaborate with the Director to develop and implement controls to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations
  • Leverage existing and emerging technology and innovative approaches to improve current Financial Aid Operations
  • Review and approve student files to make financial aid award decisions as it applies to federal/state regulations
  • Counsel students in person, via phone, and via email concerning financial aid eligibility and handle escalated customer service issues
  • Maintain current knowledge of federal and state aid regulations as they relate to assigned duties to maintain institutional compliance
  • Assist in maintaining functional aspects of the Financial Aid module of Ellucian Banner, including system setup, implementation, analysis, problem resolution, maintenance, reporting, and regulatory updates
  • Work with staff to improve efficiencies within all functional areas by using technology to provide systematic solutions to problems and enhancement of existing processes
  • Provide support in developing new programs and processes with IT to automate, enhance and streamline processes
  • Other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters degree from an accredited institution
  • Three years of progressive financial aid experience
  • Possesses extensive knowledge of information, practices, and procedures in financial aid to include federal and state regulations
  • Possesses knowledge of student eligibility as determined by the Department of Education
  • Experience and knowledge of financial aid functions within an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
  • Knowledge of automated financial aid systems, such as Common Origination & Disbursement (COD), Financial Aid Administration (FAA) Access to Central Processing System (CPS) Online, and National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS)
  • Possesses strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Is detail oriented
  • Can work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Has prior supervisory experience
  • Experience and knowledge specifically with Ellucian Banner financial aid forms and functions
  • Knowledge of New Jersey Financial Aid Management System (NJFAMS)
  • Experience working with CampusLogic StudentForms product
