Bentley UniversityJob Description SummaryThe Marketing and Communications Division at Bentley University seeks an Associate Director, Digital Designer to join its Creative Services team, reporting to the Creative Director. The Digital Designer's primary "client" will be the University Advancement team, and their extensive engagement and fundraising efforts. This versatile designer will play a critical role by designing digital content on a variety of platforms (Anthology, Drupal 8, WordPress and more). This design profession will be expected to work on several projects simultaneously, meeting high design standards, following established brand guidelines and keeping up with design and development delivery schedules. The digital designer will work both independently as well as with other designers as well as advancement communications professionals, project managers and developers.
Essential Duties Build, edit and maintain all advancement division web pages in Drupal 8Oversee design for emails, digital invites, registration forms and confirmation emails in AnthologyEdit and maintain the university's capital campaign site in WordPressLead the redesign of advancement division's Support website in Drupal 8 and provide design direction to third party vendor platforms to ensure a visually consistent user experience.Design all digital initiatives such as annual reports, e-newsletters, email campaigns, giving days, social media graphics and moreServe on Bentley Magazine team and design online issue (2x per year), bring best practices to the online reader's experience.Serve as key contact/collaborator with digital engagement teamEnsure responsive, mobile-first designKeep abreast of industry trends and all applicable technologies, including security issues, authoring tools, graphic design tools, and new languagesProvide additional digital design capacity and expertise to creative services team as bandwidth permits Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree: requiredFive + years of work experience in digital marketing and design.Digital/online portfolio is requiredProven time management and client relations experience, ability to translate client needs into executable web designs and e-communication toolsAbility to create wireframes, recommend navigation and monitor user experience on all pages.Must be able to handle multiple projects in a high-volume environmentAbility to project manage multiple assignments concurrentlyDetail-oriented, with strong written and oral communications skillsProficiency with Excel, CSS, Drupal/CMS, Photoshop, and HTML preferred Preferred Qualifications Higher ed/fundraising work expereince preferredUnderstanding of modern UX principles and component-based designPrototyping in Adobe XDKnowledge of Canva, Adobe Express for social media and branded templatesEnsure alignment with established university brand standardsGood sense of typography, design principles and visual trends Work Environment Typical office setting with extensive sitting and computer workAbility to travel around campus for meetings and other work related events Bentley University requires references checks and may conduct other pre-employment screening.
