The Department of Social & Behavioral Sciences is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor to teach a range of upper-level and lower-level courses in Criminal Justice, both in-class and on-line. Course topics include corrections, social justice, social issues, ethics, world economics and crime, and race, class and gender issues. The primary focus of this position is teaching, and the ideal candidate is one who is committed to full-time undergraduate teaching. Additional faculty responsibilities include student advisement, assessment, university service and on-going professional development. The anticipated start date for this position is August 2019 for the fall semester.

Job Requirements:

Applicants must have a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice or related field or J.D. degree with college level teaching experience and academic and/or professional experience in criminal justice work, with particular interest in or experience with the U.S. corrections system and/or Restorative Justice, at the time of appointment.

Preferred Requirements:

A Ph.D. or doctorate; field work related to corrections; practical and theoretical understanding of emerging and comparative movements for criminal justice reform such as restorative justice and alternatives to incarceration; and supervisory experience in relevant fields such as corrections, probation, parole, advocacy, policing, private security, military, human resources, integrity units, oversight unites, recruitment or related functions dealing with ethics and diversity engagement within organizations.
