Under the direction of the Associate Vice President for Facilities and Risk Management this position will develop, prepare, and administer contracts, and proposals that meet specifications and comply with all policies and regulations. Reviews contract terms to identify any potential risk or compliance issues. Works with all University departments for all facets of contract review and management, policy review, risk management and insurance. Works with the AVP to manage contract workflow, establish priorities, and ensure compliance with legal requirements and University policies.

Prepare, review, and revise contracts, associated documents, and other legal documents such as: Memorandums Of Understanding and Non-Disclosure Agreements to ensure contracts are executed in accordance with legal requirements, and University policies and procedures. Seek advice from insurance brokers, legal counsel, or others when appropriate in order to comply with contracts. Coordinate contract and legal document review by other University offices and consultants (technology services, financial services, transportation, legal) as needed.
Manage the AIA Contracts license (American Institute of Architects). Maintain responsibility for editing, producing, distributing, and filing AIA Agreements using WORD and AIA software. Monitor campus construction contracts.
Analyze and mitigate risk with contract language and requirements. Develop and maintain a set of standard contracts for the University such as affiliation agreements, contractor agreements, license agreements and update as needed.

Maintain contract management system to include contract listing, executed contracts, backup documentation and reports. Maintains contract records used to ensure compliance with reporting and regulatory requirements.
Monitor the contract management system for contract renewals and termination dates, and maintenance of certificates of insurance. Recommend improvements and/or changes to the system. Serve as backup on the DocuSign administrator account.

Work with the Associate Vice President to identify risks and monitor the higher education industry trends and recommendations to include: cyber risk, study abroad/travel risk. Keep abreast of FERPA, Title IX, HIPAA, Clery, and NCAA regulations. Research, revise and create University policies and procedures to mitigate risk and to stay current on legal updates.
Attend University risk management meetings and follow-up on questions/issues. Prepare reports as directed by the Associate Vice President.
Research training options and coordinate or conduct training as needed.

Work with the Associate Vice President to submit and follow-up on insurance claims, appraisals and insurance certificate requests. Research information related to claims and respond to insurance company requests. Manage process for all insurance claims and follow-up with departments as necessary. Work with the Associate Vice President to prepare applications for annual insurance renewal. Review policies annually to ensure accuracy.

Bachelor's Degree with Paralegal Experience Preferred.
5-8 Years of experience working with contracts, preferably in an education, legal or contractual environment preferred.
Knowledge of legal principles, contract law, procurement practices and higher education law, including familiarity with FERPA, Title IX, HIPAA, Clery and NCAA compliance.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Adobe preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, efficient work habits, strong organizational skills, and strong attention to detail.
Ability to understand, interpret and explain contract terms.
Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of individuals and offices.
Ability to work independently, meet challenging deadlines and handle multiple projects.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.
Flexibility to work in a hybrid remote work environment.
