This is an in-person on campus, non-remote position.

The Art Gallery Exhibition Coordinator manages all day-to-day operations of the Stockton University Art Gallery.

  • Coordinate, schedule, design, and implement Art Gallery exhibitions, lectures, and other programming in consultation with the Art Gallery Committee. This includes installing and de-installing exhibitions; arranging for arrival and return of artwork; and arranging insurance of artwork during shipping and while on display
  • Meet regularly with the Art Gallery Committee to select exhibitions and inform the committee of important gallery business
  • Meet regularly with the Art Gallery Committee Chairperson. Meet regularly with Noyes Executive Director
  • Hire and supervise Art Gallery student workers
  • Supervise daily operations of the Art Gallery
  • Schedule and coordinate lectures and other special events
  • Review income and approve expenditures based on the Art Gallery budget
  • Write grant proposals for supplemental funding of Art Gallery projects
  • Responsible for all gallery publicity including website and social media accounts
  • Collaborate with the Noyes Museum of Art on summer art camps for K-12 students in the Art Gallery and other educational opportunities to reach underserved population in our community
  • Develop, coordinate, and communicate with the Noyes Museum for the purpose of joint programming
  • Responsible for monitoring gallery supply inventories
  • Maintain and keep records of ARTVs permanent art collection
  • Support Stockton Universitys diversity commitment and strong student-centered vision and mission
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean, School of Arts and Humanities, and/or the Provost and Vice President


Required Qualifications:

  • BA or BFA in Studio Art, Art History, or Arts Management/Arts Administration
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating and overseeing exhibition planning, installation, and de-installation, including communication with the faculty and artists and supervision of student workers; must oversee logistics of transportation and installation, publicity, legal documentation, etc.
  • Experience in writing grant proposals
  • Experience in community outreach

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of art, artistic media, and aesthetics
  • Knowledge of art gallery management and exhibition procedures including installations, publicity, and event planning

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MA or MFA degree in Studio Art, Art History, or Arts Management/Arts Administration
