Position Summary

A key member of the Division of Institutional Advancement, the Development Coordinator will provide operational support for donor services, fund raising, stewardship and engagement initiatives. The Development Coordinator assists in overseeing fundraising activities and recording donations, produces gift acknowledgements, supports donor stewardship, and conducts donor research. The role also supports processes and workflow within the departments engagement and philanthropy activities, including Impact Fund campaigns, in-house appeals, third party direct mail, donor stewardship and philanthropic engagement. Provides project coordination between Institutional Advancement team and other campus partners as we seek to enhance digital engagement and grow philanthropic revenue for the university. The Development Coordinator will be relationship-centric, mission-driven, detail-oriented, inquisitive and self-motivated, applying database management, financial acumen and collaborative problem solving in support of the Division of Institutional Advancements diverse goals and initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performs day-to-day workflow within the Raisers Edge donor database, including gift and pledge entry, and produces appropriate gift acknowledgements, both digital and print, across the donor response forms and giving campaigns.
  • Contributes to data health with accurate and timely updates to constituent records for contact information, relationships and engagement tracking, as well as assists with coding and loading of information provided by other university departments and advancement colleagues.
  • Ensures accuracy of variable data used for print and digital mailings to ensure personalized experience for all constituents.
  • Assists Institutional Advancement team with all aspects of gift and fund administration while working in collaboration with Finance and Financial Aid, among other university departments.
  • Involved in the compilation, formatting and execution of queries, exports, reports and mailing lists through the Raisers Edge system.
  • Works with the Impact Fund team to provide project coordination across all aspects of the digital and print campaigns.
  • Works with stewardship team to manage donor retention and stewardship initiatives.
  • Works with major gift team to identify prospects and track strategies to match prospects' interests to the strategic priorities of the colleges and University.
  • Works major gift team to support proposal development, prepare prospect briefings, coordinate gift agreement process, stewardship plans and travel or digital engagement details.
  • Cultivates and maintains relationships with student, alumni, campus colleagues, donors and volunteers.
  • Perform other appropriate duties as assigned

Required Education & Experience
  • Required three or more years of work related experience with business finance, project management, fundraising, business intelligence, digital communications, and CRMs.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Exceptionally strong project and time management skills, including demonstrated capacity to manage and prioritize competing projects and complete assignments under deadlines.
  • Solution-oriented approach, including the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, and demonstrated willingness to take initiative while juggling several priorities all with readiness, optimism, and calm under pressure.
  • Excellent judgment, dependable, and able to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Adept at learning new digital platforms and donor database applications used to support our Institutional Advancement operations, including Raisers Edge, GiveCampus, ThankView, and EventSquid

Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred education of a bachelor's degree
