The Accounting Coordinator performs routine accounting activities such as maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports; accounts payable or receivable functions; can work from home on a limited basis with supervisor authorization. Work is performed under limited direct supervision.

  1. Payroll Processing: collects and enters timekeeping information into Paylocity; obtains supervisory approval of all timecard discrepancies; processes garnishment requests; processes direct deposit, W-2s and Year End calculations, and any other tasks associated with processing payroll.
  2. Research, track and resolve accounting problems
  3. Enter data into computer system using defined computer programs, such as posting customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions, etc.; run reports as needed
  4. Match invoices to work orders and process
  5. Assist in opening mail: disperse to appropriate staff; match checks to invoices, etc.
  6. Contact clients/vendors with delinquent accounts
  7. Assist in ordering supplies
  8. Provide front desk support, including being in the phone queue
  9. Record business transactions and key daily worksheets to the general ledger system
  10. Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings and statements
  11. Bank reconciliation
  12. Assist in training Accounting Support
  13. All responsibilities performed in accordance with GAAP and company policy
  14. Provides timely and completed documentation of work performed
  15. Operates vehicles and other equipment safely; adheres to safety protocols; reports hazards and risks; behavior contributes to a safe and secure working environment

Supervisory Responsibility:

There are no supervisory responsibilities with this role.

Work Environment:

This job operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, etc.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent of education and/or experience

2-3 years' experience

Preferred Education and Experience:

SAGE experience preferred

Experience in Accounting/Finance
