Overview

The purpose of the Account Manager role is to achieve TV, and Digital sales targets for your portfolio of clients, while also contributing to the achievement of the overall team sales targets.

This role is responsible for responding successfully to client briefs, negotiating annual contracts, hunting for new revenue opportunities and maintaining strong and effective relationships with clients.

An Account Manager must have strong communication skills, and the ability to think creatively. They must be a confident presenter, have a high degree of personal initiative and drive, and a genuine interest in the media industry.

Responsibilities

Sales
  • Achievement for monthly revenue targets.
  • Achievement of quarterly revenue share goals.
  • Managing a portfolio of clients to deliver growth.
  • Actively searching for new clients and building new business.
  • Contribution to achieving the broader team TV and Digital budgets.
  • Using research and insights to support negotiations that grow client spend.
  • Developing and maintaining strong and effective relationships with clients.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Effective call planning to ensure regular communications with relevant parties.
  • Tracking historical client spends and share and identifying revenue growth opportunities from both new and existing customers.
  • Competent planning of campaigns as required.
  • Ability to interrogate a client brief to ensure all required information is captured.
  • Preparing and presenting responses to brief (integration and VID) to a high standard.
  • Preparing and presenting post analysis where required.
  • Keeping the market updated on performance, opportunities and initiatives.
  • Manage yield and volume to maximise performance while achieving yield goals.
  • Strategic client planning to identify growth and target acquisition accounts
  • Writing compelling presentations, using research and insights to positively influence the outcome.
  • Ongoing monitoring of client spends and VID commitments.
  • Demonstrate an in depth understanding of all clients within the portfolio and proactively identify opportunities to grow revenue.
  • Provide accurate weekly forecasting and commentary including gap analysis and required actions.


People
  • Working collaboratively and effectively with TV and Digital Planners to ensure campaigns are accurately tracked.
  • Ensure strong and collaborative relationships with integration, operations, content and other internal divisions.


General
  • Staying up to date with key trends within the media industry, locally and overseas.
  • Preparing and presenting quarterly updates to key end clients.
  • Presenting professionally and compellingly at quarterly content previews and on other occasions.
  • Using research and insights to develop effective sales collateral.
  • Strong knowledge of TV programming and Digital properties.
  • Contribute to a positive above the line culture that embodies the team values and lead by example.
  • Attend functions and hosting opportunities as required.
  • Familiarity with the company health & safety policies and procedures.
  • Carry out your work safely and without endangering or causing harm to yourself, fellow staff members, contractors, customers, visitors or the general public.
  • Other duties as required.


Qualifications

  • 2-3 years experience in a media organisation or media agency.
  • Strong understanding of the media industry.
  • Understanding of media sales and how to influence revenue outcomes
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers and a strong customer service ethic.
  • Strong and confident communication skills both written and oral.
  • Ability to write compelling presentations.
  • A strong presenter.
  • Ability to think creatively.
  • Able to relate to a wide range of people.
  • Ability to be diplomatic when dealing with difficult situations.
  • Ability to prioritise work.
  • Able to work well under pressure.
  • Highly organised and able met deadlines.
  • Flexible working hours - able to work longer hours if required.


Qualities preferred:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
  • Experience in TV or Digital sales.
