Job Summary
The Willamette Valley Communications Center (WVCC) is seeking to hire a Support Services Analyst II! This position oversees and manages the ongoing support services of our regional 9-1-1 call taking and emergency dispatch center. The agency serves Police, Fire, and EMS agencies across the regional area of Marion, Polk, and Lincoln Counties.

The Support Services Analyst is responsible for a wide range of programs which support the technical and operational needs of WVCC. This would include the recruitment and hiring of WVCC, such as creating outreach strategies, attending recruiting events or job fairs, and tracking applicants through the entire recruitment process. This position is responsible for 911 Center accreditation, which involves leading a group of 911 professionals to plan, organize, and analyze division staffing standards, directives, training materials and documentation, insure policies are current and all relevant documents are in compliance to meet and then maintain accreditation. As a Support Services Analyst II, you will be responsible for grant administration and ongoing budget analysis and preparation. This position may assist with research and development of RFI (Request for Information) and RFP (Request for Proposal) documents for equipment acquisition. The Support Services Analyst II must work collaboratively with the WVCC Operations Manager and Technical Services Manager to develop, interpret, and adjust procedures necessary for the efficient and effective operation of the emergency communications centers equipment. Other day-to-day responsibilities include supervision of administrative staff, attending meetings with member agencies, other partners, and private vendors.
We are looking for candidates with strong analytical and communications skills to provide input in the above listed areas to City of Salem, Radio Communications Shop, and the Emergency Communications agency. Candidates should also be able to work independently with considerable discretion.

About the Willamette Valley Communications Center (WVCC):
WVCC was formed in 1991 through the consolidation of three area dispatch center: Mid-Polk 9-1-1, Serving most of Polk County, METCOM (Salem Metropolitan Communications Agency), serving the Marion County Sheriff and Marion County Fire District #1, and the City of Salem dispatch center. In July of 2012, Lincoln County agencies previously served by LinCom 9-1-1 also joined the WVCC Family. WVCC is a division of the Salem Police Department; the 73+ staff members are all employees of the City of Salem.

WVCC works collaboratively with our 29 Police, Fire and EMS subscriber agencies; Budget preparation is conducted in a committee setting with appointed representative members from our Advisory Board. We desire to seek grant opportunities that will have a positive impact on the budgets of our users through cost reductions in the WVCC budget.

What are the minimum qualifications?
  • Must pass the pre-employment drug test (including marijuana).
  • Must pass the pre-employment background check.
  • Must pass criminal background check necessary to obtain Law Enforcement Data System certification within 30 days of hire (clearance must be maintained throughout employment).
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets the City of Salem's driving standards.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration or a related field and five years of progressively responsible experience; or equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • First Aid and CPR certificate
