Position SummaryThe Trainer/Preceptor acts as a liaison for the newly hired staff to acclimate them to the Access Center department& building. The Trainer/Preceptor has advanced knowledge of all AtlantiCare Access Center services, procedures and policies, providers, data systems and resources.
The Trainer/Preceptor works closely with the Access Center leadership team to organize the training materials, schedules and curriculum to onboard new hires. The Trainer/Preceptor reviews departmental policies and procedures with newly hired Access Center staff. The Trainer/Preceptor trains the new hire on all software systems and call flows. Once trained on the databases the Trainer/Preceptor works in tandem with the newly hired staff taking calls acting as support until competency is achieved with each modality.
The Trainer/Preceptor works closely with the department leadership in the development and optimization and deployment of the training program. The Trainer/Preceptor takes on the role of mentor with the new staff member and contributes input on newly hired staff performance and the preliminary evaluation process.
QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma required; Associates degree preferred.

Work EnvironmentPotential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires sitting, standing walking, stooping and crouching a majority of the workday. Ability to lift and transport a minimum of 15 pounds. Works with such equipment as computer terminal, fax machine, printer and copier.
