We are seeking a passionate and responsible intern to join Oxford University Press for our virtual summer internship program. Our paid virtual summer internship role is entry-level and within Finance. You will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of the daily routines and procedures within Finance. The focus of this internship is for you to learn about and gain experience in the Academic Publishing industry.

The virtual internship dates will be from June 2021 through August 2021 (exact dates are flexible).

Your cover letter should include the following information: why you are pursuing your current degree (if any) and why you're interested in working at OUP.
  • Answer vendor and author phone inquiries; when necessary, direct calls to the appropriate department
  • Perform clerical duties such as compose and manage emails
  • Assist in preparing information and research materials; create, maintain, and sometimes present PowerPoint presentations
  • Occasionally take notes during meetings; type documents, drafts, and reports; sort and manage files
  • Organize and maintain meetings; update company calendars
  • Shadow multiple Finance stakeholders and train in a variety of tasks

  • Possess an interest in the Publishing industry
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Possess online research abilities and have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Comfortable asking questions and engaging in team discussion
  • Passionate, curious, and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a virtual environment.

The internship opportunities are fully virtual, working hours will be based only on Eastern Standard Time. Currently, our offices in New York, North Carolina, and Massachusetts are closed due to the pandemic.
